Every year our extended family spends a week at the beach. It’s a great opportunity to relax, soak up the sun, listen to the waves, and reconnect with my three sisters, brothers-in law and their kids. Those of you who vacation with friends and family know what I’m talking about. Good times! – and a break from the office.
We don’t escape work completely during our family beach time – we still think and talk a little shop. As far as our industry is concerned, ad specialties are everywhere! It would be difficult not to notice prevalent corporate branding is at “the shore”. Beach umbrellas with company and beverage names; lots of plush branded beach towels; logo’d coolers & drink wear; banner ads, signage; and lots of apparel & hats.
It’s all good. When companies spend money on giveaways and gifts, that’s what they want. People who find those items useful will be continuously reminded of your brand. And when they take that to somewhere like the beach, we are ALL seeing those logos.
So next time you think about what promotional items you want for your marketing campaign, consider where those products might make a bigger impact. Will something remain on an office desk because it’s useful? Will that special tumbler be a must-have for morning commutes? Or will that company gift or shirt have lots of eye-catching value at a public place or event.
A useful product with good branding and a clear marketing message will make your campaigns more successful.
